HAIYA'S K7 MILLION PLEDGE TO BE GIVEN BEFORE THE START OF THE SEASON

The newly appointed super league of Malawi president Fleetwood Haiya says clubs will get their promised K7 million before the start of the 2023 season.
"Whatever we promised we will deliver. Clubs will get their money this forthcoming season. We are serious about developing football by empowering clubs" said Haiya.


However some clubs namely, Chitipa united, Karonga united and Kamuzu Barracks revealed their budgets towards the money.

According to The Nation, General secretary for Chitipa said "we have a budget of K 68 million for the whole season but currently we only have about K 18 million. so the excitement with the K 7 million that the president promised, will make a huge difference.

" we will use the money to buy equipments and also pay for accommodation and transportation during our away games. We just hope it will be released in time".

Speaking to Malawi24, General secretary for Karonga united said " we are a community based team and we operate based on handouts from community members. We have so many challenges such as players salaries, transport and we also have to pay sulom K 3 million affiliation fee.

Meanwhile according to The Nation, General secretary for Kamuzu Barracks Christopher Njeula said the K7 million will be used to cover sports equipments like boots, uniforms and also affiliation fee.
