SILVER STRICKERS HIRES DE JONGH

Top flight  silver stickers has hired former Highlanders and Platinum FC  coach, as the head coach of the club.

De Jongh has signed a two year contract and he will take over the operations next week.

The appointment comes in following the lat week's firing of a Zambian coach Daniel Kabwe.

According to the Nation Newspaper, the club's secretary peter masiye has confirmed for the appointed coach.

"The coach has vast experience with a proven track record and we took our time because we wanted to enhance an ideal one" he said.

A recap of his coaching performance, De Jongh has coached Somalia National team and he also won the chibuku super cup with Bosso.

NYAMILANDU LAUNCHES TALENT DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

Nyamilandu speaking to young stars Football Association of Malawi (Fam) President Walter Nyamilandu says the Fifa-funded Talent Development Scheme (TDS) will help improve national football team players. According to the Times Group, Nyamilandu, speaking during the launch of the scheme at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre, said the scheme will facilitate the supply of quality players to the national football team.   “For a long time, we have failed to produce enough complete players for both the national team and export to top leagues abroad because we lacked players that have various attributes such as good physique, height and skills,” he said. BLANTYRE DURBY ENDS IN DRAW

During the game The first Blantyre derby of 2023 failed to produce a winner as Nyasa Big Bullets were held to a goalless draw by rival Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
