CHAWINGA RANK ON SECOND POSITION

Italian based Malawian football star Tabitha Chawinga rank on the second position in the best African women's footballer for the third successive time by ESPN channels.

The channel recognise the performance of women's footballers and teams worldwide.

In an interview with the nation yesterday, the scorchers captain said she hopes for her better performance in women's serie A and consistent for the confederation of   African Footballer (CAF) African women's footballer of the year award.

"Having missed out of the CAF award nomination last year, I hope I will make the shoot-list this year"

Tabitha has been the best in the italian women's top_flight in which she leads the score chart with 13 goals.

NYAMILANDU LAUNCHES TALENT DEVELOPMENT SCHEME

Nyamilandu speaking to young stars Football Association of Malawi (Fam) President Walter Nyamilandu says the Fifa-funded Talent Development Scheme (TDS) will help improve national football team players. According to the Times Group, Nyamilandu, speaking during the launch of the scheme at Mpira Stadium in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre, said the scheme will facilitate the supply of quality players to the national football team.   “For a long time, we have failed to produce enough complete players for both the national team and export to top leagues abroad because we lacked players that have various attributes such as good physique, height and skills,” he said. BLANTYRE DURBY ENDS IN DRAW

During the game The first Blantyre derby of 2023 failed to produce a winner as Nyasa Big Bullets were held to a goalless draw by rival Mighty Mukuru Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon. According to Malawi24 nomads dominated the first half while BB enjoyed the closing stage of the second half, but there was nothing to separate the two teams in full time.
