Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve has registered the unbeaten record after defeating Bangwe all-stars 2-0 making them masters in Thumbs up southern region football League at Kamuzu stadium on Saturday.
According to Malawi 24 Bangwe all-stars looked well equipped throughout the match but they were shocked with the unexpected goals coming from Lyton Chinong’one and Emmanuel Saviel of Nyasa Reserve.
In the 13th minutes, Franklin Titan send an extraordinary free-kick inside the box and Chikumbutso Salima connected it by head, but Elias Missi joined the flow by making the ball to go in the path of Chinong’one, who had a simple to task of shooting to make it 0-1.
Upon seeing that, Bangwe Head Coach, Mabvuto Lungu, decides to have a double change by replacing James Zuze and Silvester Phiri with Andrew Jere and Andrew Maluwa Immediately.
According to Malawi 24 the change did not show any positive results for Bangwe as Bullets established a two goal lead through Saviel in a 12 minutes to go time, during the second half.
At the end of the match the managers for both teams had to deliver their speech which leads:
“The first half seemed difficult because I told the boys to hold them (Bangwe) and finish them in second half. We found a lot of chances in the second half, we could have scored five or six goals. All in all, we should be satisfied that we have won the championship and got the clean sheet”. Said Chatama.
“For five years our friends (Bullets Reserve) had almost the same players and they know each other. There are a lot of things they do. Theirs was a good game plan and so was ours, but we missed it narrowly. In a game, if you do not concentrate, those were the consequences, otherwise, we are not bad”. Said Lungu.
Despite the defeat, Bangwe all-stars will proceed to compete in tnm super league as the juniors cannot take part in the super league since their seniors are already in the league.
We really looking forward to more winning.. .big up to them
